Flat Roofs are generally the commercial solution. However, there are also many homes that have flat roofs. There are a variety of ways to protect a low slope (flat roof) building, whether it is a residence or a home. Each building is different, however, so it is important that Andrews works closely with you, in order to select the most effective material.

• Single Ply Membranes:
TPO -(Thermosplastic Polyolefin). Most popular commercial roofing material. Lightweight and flexible. Easy repair and maintenance. Available in a variety of colors. Environmentally safe. Highly resistant to wind. Heat-weldable membrane.
PVC -(Poly-Vinyl Chloride). Similar to TPO. Withstands rain, fire, and wind. Exceptional seam strength. Heat-weldable membrane. Lightweight and flexible material.
EPDM -
(Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer). Synthetic rubber roof membrane. Lightweight material. Installs in large sheets, which reduces labor. Easy to maintain and repair. Flexibility and movement without breakage. Resistant to ultraviolet light and ponding water. Usually black.

• Modified Bitumen Roofing Systems - Has the same basics as B.U.R., with bitumen used as the adhesive and waterproofing agent. Modified bitumen, however, uses innovative polymer technology, Atactic Polypropylene (APP) and S.B.S. (Sequenced Butadeine Styrene). These materials are fabricated in sheets that can be layered, which improves workability. The visible surface can be foil face, granules, aluminum coating, or emulsion coating, just to name a few.
• Built-Up Roofing (B.U.R.) - Made from multiple alternating layers of bitumen (asphalt or coal-tar) and a combination of reinforcements. B.U.R. is constructed of a waterproofing component, a reinforcing component, and a surfacing component, which protects the other components. The visible surface can be composed of asphalt, aggregate (slag or gravel), emulsion, or a granule-surfaced sheet. This type of installation can be placed over an existing material, eliminating the need to remove older roofing.
